On August 20, 1991 the Estonian parliament declared Estonia independent (recognition by the Soviet Union on September 6). The first stamps -since 1940- were issued on October 1, 1991. This series of permanent franking stamps is a set of 9 stamps with the Estonian (coat of) arms: three lions.
The values 0,05 (Rubel) – 0, 10 – 0,15 – 0,30 – 0,50 – 0,70 – 0,90 (Mi. 165 – 171) and printed in the Wertpapierdruckerei Leipzig.
